Hanieh Doostdar is an Iranian artist whose practice draws on personal experience, solitude, domestic space, and the relationship between the individual and her surroundings. Working with drawing and printmaking techniques including monotype and etching, she often places herself at the centre of her imagery, using the figure as a way to explore psychological and emotional states. Rooms, everyday objects, and fragments of domestic life become recurring elements within her visual language. Her works often function as independent images while remaining connected through recurring spaces, figures, and experiences. Through these intimate scenes, Doostdar examines ideas of home, isolation, memory, presence, and the boundaries between private experience and the outside world.
