Hosein Shirahmadi (b. 1988, Karaj) is an Iranian painter and draftsman whose practice is rooted in direct observation and sustained engagement with the human figure. Working across watercolor, oil painting, pencil, monotype, and other techniques, he develops intimate images in which posture, gesture, silence, and the physical presence of the model become central. His works frequently depict seated, reclining, or resting figures, allowing subtle shifts in body language and atmosphere to shape the image. Shirahmadi’s approach emphasizes the act of looking and the unpredictable process of painting itself. Through repeated observation and experimentation with different materials, his work explores the relationship between painter, model, image, and the shared space in which a painting comes into being.
