Marjan Homayoun

Marjan Homayoun is an Iranian artist whose figurative practice explores memory, identity, family history, and the fluid relationship between personal experience and inherited recollection. Working primarily with pastel and mixed media on cardboard, she draws extensively from old family photographs, stories told by relatives, and images connected to different generations of her family. In her series Which One of You Am I?, figures and moments from her mother’s youth, her own childhood, and the present coexist within a shifting visual chronology. Through these reconstructed scenes, Homayoun examines how memories are transmitted, altered, and absorbed over time, and how photographs can become containers for experiences that gradually feel like our own.
