Camilla Moberg

Finnish · b. 1961

Camilla Moberg (b. 1961, Finland) is a Finnish glass artist and designer whose practice explores the relationship between nature, light, colour, and biodiversity. Working with master glassblowers in Nuutajärvi, Finland’s oldest glass-making village, she creates handblown sculptures and illuminated works composed of individually formed glass elements. Her Messengers in Glass series draws inspiration from natural stone formations and the colours and patterns of insects and birds, particularly endangered species. By enlarging these visual details into abstract sculptural forms, Moberg connects the fragility of glass with the vulnerability of natural ecosystems. Her works are represented in public collections including the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Finnish State Art Collection, and Art Center White Block in Seoul.
