Dean Monogenis

Dean Monogenis (b. 1973, New York) is an American artist whose paintings explore the relationship between architecture, landscape, construction, and imagined environments. Working primarily with acrylic on wood panel, he combines sharply defined geometric structures with organic terrain, atmospheric colour, and painterly surfaces. Buildings, monuments, scaffolding, mountains, and fragmented architectural forms frequently appear in spaces that shift between the real and the fictional. Architecture became a central subject in his practice in the early 2000s, leading him to examine ideas of permanence, instability, transformation, and humanity’s impact on the landscape. Monogenis has exhibited internationally, with solo exhibitions at Xippas in Paris and Geneva, Baronian in Brussels, and Walter Maciel Gallery in Los Angeles.
