Not Quite Tomorrow

Not Quite Tomorrow presents a new series of paintings by GaHee Park that explore desire, intimacy, perception, and psychological ambiguity. Drawing from the tradition of still life, Park constructs seemingly idyllic interiors populated by figures, food, animals, reflections, and doubled forms. Forced perspective, fragmented bodies, repeated features, and distorted spatial relationships create a surreal sense of instability. The exhibition examines how contradictory emotions and interpretations can coexist within a single image, while references to art history and Old Master painting are reworked through Park’s distinctive contemporary visual language. The works move between sensuality, humour, unease, and fantasy, questioning how viewers construct meaning from what they see.
