Aujourd’hui, c’est dimanche presents Jean-François Fourtou’s Hybridus family, a group of fantastical figures combining human bodies with plants. Inspired by the artist’s personal history, childhood memories, family relationships, and his life in Marrakech, the works explore the connection between humanity and nature. The figures wear carefully designed period clothing and appear within scenes that evoke family gatherings and another era. Plants such as cacti, aloe vera, and cycads replace their heads, reflecting the vegetation surrounding Fourtou’s home in Morocco. Through humour, poetry, and imagination, the exhibition addresses identity, family memory, diversity, nature, and the emotional world of childhood.
