Scène de Genres presents a series of paintings by Arnaud Adami focused on sex workers and the tension between visibility, intimacy, vulnerability, and social marginalization. Using theatrical lighting, frontal compositions, and highly tactile surfaces, Adami depicts figures absorbed in private gestures such as applying makeup, embracing a stuffed toy, or photographing their bodies. Materials including latex, satin, feathers, neon, and skin become central to the paintings, linking physical texture with the lived realities of the subjects. The exhibition reconsiders the traditional idea of genre painting through a contemporary lens, emphasizing dignity, tenderness, resistance, and the complex relationship between viewer and subject.
